We will enjoy touring the park, then stop in Staunton for dinner on the way back home. On the Safari, you'll be able to see animals run and frolic with abandon on the 180-acre property. The animals are free to roam! We will ride in a car over three miles of maintained gravel road and feed the animals through the vehicle windows! But don't be in a hurry, the animals often block your path...or lay flat-out in the sun...the choice is theirs! Not only are the animals free to roam, but they follow their instincts. Males challenge each other for the attention of the females, resulting in cute baby animals being born throughout the season. Sometimes visitors are lucky enough to observe a birth in progress, and watch as the baby takes its first steps! Animal Interaction is the Focus. Enjoy feeding and petting goats & kids, potbellied pigs & piglets, chickens, baby llamas, and all your farmyard favorites... in the beautiful and natural setting of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the Shenandoah Valley. The experience of having a giant bull elk or deer only inches away, feeding from your bucket, is virtually impossible to describe. Meet at UVA Clock Tower at 12 PM Get back to UVA around 8:30 PM Event cost: $28 for park entrance (pay by credit or cash at the park) Optional $10 for animal feed (pay by credit or cash at the park) |
