JOIN US on April 9, 2022 AT 9 AM MEET AT THE AFC PARKING LOT - We will then use vans and cars to caravan up to mountains. Directions will be provided. If you have a car, please let us know, and bring it to help with rides. We will drive about 1.5 hours to Shenandoah National Park. This is a 4-mile out-and-back hike to Mary’s Rock via Appalachian Trail. Picturesque views along the way, breathtaking 360-degree view of the Blue Ridge Mountains and Shenandoah Valley from Mary's Rock Summit. This is a strenuous 3-hour hike! Be sure to wear shoes that are good for hiking, bring some bottled water and bring your own lunch in a bag. Wear warm clothes--the temperature at the top of the mountain will be 10 or 15 degrees F colder than the temperature at UVA. You should bring about $12 CASH with you to pay help with gas, park entrance and trail use fee.
