Or at Charlottesville.isivirginia.com COVID Update: In line with the new UVA COVID restrictions shared by President Ryan, we are limiting group sizes to 10 people maximum. If you are planning to hike with certain friends, please meet them BEFORE 2:30 at a different location and then come to the clock tower TOGETHER. That way, we will not have people waiting around at our meeting spot. As always, please wear a mask and bring some pocket-sized hand sanitizer. Again, we will not gather any group bigger than 10, and we will hike in separate small groups.
When: October 23, 2020, 2:30 PM – 7:30 PM

Where: Meet beside the small clock tower at the corner of Alderman Rd. and Whitehead Rd. beside UVA’s Aquatic & Fitness Center.
Drivers: If you have a car, please plan to drive, and offer rides with a maximum of 5 people per car. All must wear masks at all times. Please offer hand sanitizer to all passengers before they load into the car.

Hike Details:
We will drive for 30 minutes from UVA to the Humpback Rocks trailhead. From there, we will hike 1.0 miles to the Rocks–this hike is moderate to challenging, gaining about 800 feet in elevation in just one mile! This ascent to the top will take about 45 minutes. The views at the Rocks are extravagant, looking west onto the Shenandoah Valley and north to Shenandoah National Park. After a leisurely time of viewing the scenery at the top, we will hike back down the same path and be back to UVA by 7:45PM.

What to Bring: Bottled water, snacks, warm layered clothing (it tends to be windy and colder in the mountains). Feel free to invite other international student or scholar friends.

The Blue Ridge Mountains are one of the prettiest areas in America . Join us for this Fall Hike. Questions?  Just reply to this email
