Crabtree Falls Trail Saturday, April 26.

Crabtree Falls is the highest vertical-drop cascading waterfall in the Eastern United States.  It features a series of five major cascades and a number of smaller ones that fall a total distance of 1,200 feet.  Crabtree Falls is arguably the most beautiful set of waterfalls in Virginia. 

We will hike for about one and a half hours up to the top of the waterfall.  At the top, we'll enjoy a beautiful view of the Blue Ridge Mountains and eat our bagged lunches.  Then we'll hike for about one hour coming back down.

Meet at the Aquatic Fitness Center Parking Lot at 9:00AM.  We'll drive together to Crabtree Falls (drive takes about one hour), and then we'll be back in Charlottesville by about 5:30PM.  If you have a car and would be willing to drive, please bring it.  That will be helpful. We'll have directions available there at the AFC.
