Ice Reception on Saturday, August 20!

Come meet everyone this Saturday at 4:00pm. Be sure to invite any new international students or scholars that you are in contact with so that no one is left out -- it's going to be lots of fun!
All international students are invited to an Ice-Cream Reception this Saturday, August 20, in the lovely UVA Gardens.
Join us this Saturday for an elegant afternoon of fun!

If you can’t get to one of these pickup locations, please let us know by Thursday, August 25. Send your phone number and pickup location. and then a short drive to a lovely home in the country. If you plan to drive yourself, please reply to let us know. Maybe you can help transport other students and scholars?

This picnic is for all international students and scholars at UVA. Students from around the world can come to ISI Activities and meet other students. Friendships are formed that can last throughout your time at UVA. Local American volunteers interact with internationals throughout the picnic. The event is free and no registration is necessary!

Hear live musical performances
Hear news and information about future ISI events and activities - picnics, sports club, music ensemble, hiking at the peak of the Fall colors, etc. Give us your ideas of what we can do to make this a great year for internationals
Picnic games like croquet, tug-of-war, and soccer
Enjoy a picnic setting and activities in a beautiful setting with a view of the mountains!
Have a delicious meal - YOU WILL LOVE THE FOOD - provided by local families

The Welcome Picnic is a great place to be this weekend. Maybe you know another international student new to Charlottesville who did not get on our email list – invite them to join you at the Picnic. REMEMBER: WE MEET AT ONE OF THE LOCATIONS MENTIONED ABOVE AND CARPOOL TO THE HOUSE IN THE COUNTRY. WE WILL ENJOY THE FUN, PROGRAM, AND DINNER AND THEN FINISH AT ABOUT 7:15 PM.

CARPOOLING:
Let's save gas and conserve parking spaces by sharing rides together. We will have a bus and van available at the Student Activities Building, but if you have a car, please be ready to drive it if it is needed. Drivers, please meet at the UVA’s clock tower in front of the Aquatic & fitness center at 4 pm, and we will have directions and the address available from there. Reply to let us know you will drive. If you already have a car-full, please reply to this email, and we can send you directions.
