White Oak Canyon - Shenandoah National Park

Experience one of the best waterfall hikes in the Shenandoah National Park

JOIN US SATURDAY, August 6 AT 9:30 AM
MEET AT THE AQUATIC FITNESS CENTER - We will then use vans and cars to caravan up to the mountains. Directions will be provided. For those with cars, come to the AFC with your car and then we will see how many cars are needed— and leave unneeded cars in the stadium parking lot.

What will we do?
We will drive about 50 minutes to White Oak Canyon Trail. Hiking the trail takes about 50 minutes up to a beautiful waterfall. We will enjoy the falls and the stream that runs beside the trail. We'll be back in Charlottesville by around 4:00 pm.

What to bring with you

• Be sure to wear shoes that are good for hiking, and bring some bottled water and some snack food to eat along the way. Some people may even want to get into the refreshing pool below the waterfall where the water is about one meter deep. If you do, you will need to have shorts or a bathing suit; and bring a towel for the ride home. And bring your camera or phone--You will want to post some exciting photos!
• Bring a bagged lunch that you can eat at the waterfall.
• You should bring $15 CASH with you to pay for the National Park entrance fee, and gasoline.
